The Hillcrest Academy Raven basketball teams travel to Louisa-Muscatine Friday for a doubleheader with the Falcons. The Raven girls enter in search of their first win on the season, standing at 0-5, after a 41-24 loss to Lone Tree in Kalona Tuesday. Malia Yoder scored 13 in the losing effort. For the year, Hillcrest is scoring 24 per night and giving up 41, shooting 29% from the floor, 24% from three and 65% at the line with 26 boards, three assists, six steals and 27 turnovers per game. Individually, Yoder and Claire Withrow put up nine points each per night. Yoder leads with three steals and two assists per game. Delaney Shaw has seven boards per night.

The Falcons are 2-3 this year, 1-3 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference. They were 41-35 winners Tuesday at Highland. They score 34 per game and give up 45, shooting 35% from the floor, 29% from long distance and 52% at the line with 22 boards, two assists, six steals and 18 turnovers per game. Individually, L-M has McKenzie Kissell and Bailey Runnells each at eight points per game. Kissell is best on the team with two assists and a steal per night while Rylee Cole averages six boards. L-M has won 17 of the last 24 in the series, including four straight with 44-22 and 60-31 wins over the Ravens last year.

The Hillcrest boys are 2-1 this year after handling rival Lone Tree Tuesday in Kalona 78-48 behind 25 points from Grant Bender, 17 from Seth Ours and 11 from Luke Schrock. This year, Hillcrest is scoring 62 points per game and giving up 41, shooting 48% from the floor, 40% from downtown and 50% at the line with 25 boards, 17 assists, 15 steals and 13 turnovers per game. Individually, Bender is scoring 16 per game to lead the team to go with his best six boards per night. Luke Schrock has a team best four assists and four steals per game.

Louisa-Muscatine is 2-2 overall and 2-1 in conference after a 65-37 win at Highland Tuesday where Braedyn Van Auken scored 14 points. On the season, they are scoring 57 per game and giving up 58, shooting 44% from the floor, 26% from three and 50% at the line with 32 boards, nine assists, 10 steals, six blocks and 17 turnovers per game. Individual leaders include Ty Northup at 18 points with a team best eight boards, four assists and three steals per night. the Ravens have 23 of the last 27 in the series including 11 of the last 12 with 51-25 and 62-35 wins last season. Action starts tonight at 6p.m. at L-M High School.
