The Washington Demon boys basketball team will look for a big conference win tonight when they host Burlington in a game you can hear on KCII. Despite some strong offense to start the season, Washington has dropped two of its first three games. Senior guard Ethan Patterson is averaging 20 points per game, and strong performances from Evan Van Der Molen and Aden and Ajay Six have propelled the Demons to 64 points per game.

However, opponents have scored 67 points or more in all three games this season, and the most recent loss to Pella is already the second time this season a team has made at least 12 three-pointers against Washington. The Demon defense will need to batten down the hatches, as into town comes an unbeaten Burlington team that is lighting up the scoreboard. Behind 31 points a game from senior star Merquiche Lewis Jr., the Greyhounds average better than 72 points per contest and are hitting over 53 percent of their shot attempts.

Winning in this series has been crucial to Washington attaining the last three Southeast Conference championships. Burlington finished runner-up in the league by a game after losses of only six and 10 points to the Demons. Washington looks to maintain conference supremacy, and you can hear them battle Burlington on 106.1 FM KCII. Coverage begins with the Washington Hy-Vee Pregame Show this evening at 7.
