Iowa Wesleyan University celebrated its December graduates on Thursday with their annual ceremony in the University Chapel. 

31 undergraduate and nine graduate students were honored during the ceremony. This included seven students receiving their Masters of Arts in Management Leadership and two earning a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. 

Iowa Wesleyan President Christine Plunkett also recognized the first two graduates of the Southeast Iowa Higher Education Alliance. This partnership with Southeastern Community College offers students a smooth and affordable academic pathway between the two schools. 

Dr. Jeff Martinek, the 2022 Chadwick Teacher of the Year and long-time English Professor at IWU, was selected as the commencement speaker. Martinek acknowledged that although this stage in the students’ lives has come to a close, their growth has just begun.
