Two area boards of education plan to meet in regular sessions tomorrow at 6 p.m. in their respective school libraries. The Sigourney School Board will open their meeting with an approval of the agenda and good news from the board. They will then open a public forum for community members to share thoughts and comments.
Non-action items will follow, and include facility improvement discussions, crisis management, and administrative reports. The board hopes to establish dates for facilities planning after their consent agenda items. The evening will conclude with a closed session to evaluate superintendent goals and progress for Kevin Hatfield.
The Winfield-Mount Union Board of Education will hear public comments in the early proceedings of their meeting as well, before discussing consent agenda items. These include financial reports, personnel hirings/resignations, and the Certified Annual Report for the 2022 fiscal year.
Building reports and the superintendent report will be presented, before reviewing the school’s Wellness and School Nutrition Policies. In the general business portion of the meeting the board will consider a number of items, such as HVAC bids, the purchase of K-8 math curriculum, and a teacher quality pay increase.
