With their 2022 Toy Drive coming to a close, officers with the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus Junction Police Department will be setting up at three different locations tomorrow to collect donations from the community.

From 4-7 p.m. squad cars will be parked by Casey’s Store in Wapello, the Morning Sun Community Center, and Columbus Junction City Hall. Area residents are encouraged to bring any toy or monetary donations to the officers at these sites. Checks can be made out to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office. Donations will also be accepted at the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office by Friday, December 16.

Having been a part of this drive for the last three years, Chief Deputy Brandon Marquardt looks forward to giving back. “It’s kind of a different aspect of law enforcement.” he said. “It’s really great just to help out. Just something like a toy to make a kid smile, it really makes us feel good about ourselves too.”

Toys, along with HyVee gift cards will be distributed to families on Sunday, December 18 at the Briggs Center in Wapello. Families receiving gifts must be residents of Louisa County and can pick up items from 4-8 p.m.
