The Keota Eagles continued their strong start to the boys’ basketball season with a 77-35 win over English Valleys Tuesday night. Keota jumped out to a 24-10 lead after a quarter of play on their home floor and kept the pedal to the metal, stretching the lead to 23 at halftime and an even 30 points after the third period.

Junior Sawyer Stout continued his excellent season, pacing the Eagles with 19 points and four made three-pointers. Junior Cole Kindred added 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Junior Chase Sieren had a big night off the bench with 12 points scored, while sophomore Billie Kindred dominated the glass with 12 rebounds to help the Eagles improve to 7-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the South Iowa Cedar League East. Keota hits the court again tomorrow night in a big showdown with unbeaten Lynnville-Sully.
