The Mid-Prairie boys and girls wrestling teams both earned double dual road splits Friday. The Mid-Prairie boys traveled to Mount Pleasant where they faced non-conference foes Fort Madison and the home Panthers. Mid-Prairie’s win came over Mount Pleasant on their home mat 42-28. Mid-Prairie got wins in contested matches from Jesse Stultz at 106lbs by fall, Dom Shively at 160 by fall, and Kaden Meader at 170 by fall. In the dual with the Hounds, the Hawks were beaten 69-12 with Noah Freeman posting a fall at 138. After the split, the Hawks are 4-6 on the dual season and travel to the Saber Invitational in DeWitt Saturday.

The Mid-Prairie girls split their triangular Thursday at Cedar Rapids Prairie. The Golden Hawk win came at the expense of the Iowa City Liberty Lightning 39-24. Mid-Prairie posted wins in contested matches at 120 with Kenda Shqair winning by fall, 140 with Ellie Brenneman winning by fall, and Mia Garvey with a 4-1 decision at 170. The Hawks were beaten by the home Prairie Hawks 51-15. Mid-Prairie’s wins came with a Gabi Robertson fall at 110lbs, an Ashlee Farrier fall at 130, and a 1-0 win by Marissa Cline at 135. Mid-Prairie has a 4-1 dual record this year and travels to Wilton for a tournament Saturday.
