The Washington and Mid-Prairie girls wrestling teams have their final action before Christmas tonight at the Iowa City Liberty Girls Invitational.
Washington has been off since the Vinton-Shellsburg Tournament December 10th where they were 12th of 17 teams with 34 points, led by Teegan Sultenich’s championship at 155lbs, a sixth place finish from Jenna Bose at 145, and a seventh place for Zoe Lewis at 135.
The Hawks were on the mat Saturday in Wilton where they placed third of nine teams with 139 points. Mid-Prairie had three individual champions with Gabi Robertson taking gold at 100lbs, Ellie Brenneman winning the title in the 135A bracket and Mia Garvey the champion at 155lbs. Marissa Cline and Grace Conway were runners-up at 135A and 140 respectively and Sam Stacey was third at 235.
Joining the Demons and Hawks tonight at Liberty are Central Elkader, Clear Creek-Amana, Davenport, Independence, City High, Iowa Valley, Linn-Mar, Marion, North Scott, Pleasant Valley, Southeast Polk, Vinton-Shellsburg, Williamsburg and the home Lightning. Action starts at 4:30p.m. and continues into the evening at Liberty High School.
