A few of the area’s girls wrestlers performed well at the Prairie Winter Classic Saturday in Cedar Rapids. All four of the Highland Huskies’ wrestlers finished fourth or better in their respective brackets. Highland was led by junior Abbie Grout finishing second in Group 1. Sophomore Lilly Barre did the same in Group 11. Senior Mackenzie McFarland was fourth in Group 4, the same finish as junior Angelina Roling in Group 5.
The Columbus Wildcats had two runners-up. Freshman Audrey Hoback was second in Group 21, as was junior Dakota Storm in Group 18. Freshman Yaleen Miranda took third in Group 12, while fellow first-year grappler Quinn Smith was fifth in Group 8 and senior Miriam Ruvalcaba was sixth in Group 27.
