The final date on calendar before Christmas has arrived for the Hillcrest Academy Raven basketball teams as they entertain Wapello Tuesday for Alumni Night at Hillcrest Union in Kalona. The Raven girls come into play with an 0-8 mark overall, 0-4 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference after a 36-28 loss to the Pekin Panthers a week ago in Kalona where Malia Yoder led the way with 14 points and Claire Withrow 12. On the year, the Ravens are scoring 23 points per game and giving up 50 while shooting 25% from the floor, 26% from three and 53% at the line with 25 rebounds, four assists, seven steals and 26 turnovers. Withrow leads the Ravens at 10 points per game. Yoder averages a team best three steals and two assists while Delaney Shaw pulls down a Raven leading seven boards per night.

Wapello is 2-5 this year, 2-4 in the Superconference after a 64-33 Monday loss to the Mediapolis Bullettes where Tatum Wolford led the way with 15 points. This year the Arrows score 36 per game and give up 48, shooting 28% from the field, 25% from deep and 51% at the line with 25 boards, five assists, eight steals and 22 giveaways. Individual leaders include Wolford at 16 points, five boards and three steals per nice. Jacie Hoeg has a team best three assists per game. Wapello has won 19 of the last 26 in the series, including 12 straight with 43-23 and 44-28 victories a season ago.

The Raven boys come into play with a 4-2 record and 4-1 standing in the Superconference. A week ago, the Ravens downed Pekin in Kalona 40-32 behind 13 points from Luke Schrock and 12 from Seth Ours. Hillcrest scores 60 points per game and gives up 47, shooting 49% from the floor, 36% from three and 52% at the line with 24 rebounds, 16 assists, 13 steals and 13 turnovers per night. Individually, Grant Bender has a team high 19 points and six boards per game. Schrock leads Hillcrest with four assists and three steals per night.

Wapello is 2-5 on the year, 2-3 in the Superconference after falling to Mediapolis 52-27 Monday night. On the year, the Indians are scoring 40 points per game and giving up 52 while shooting 38% from the floor, 24% from downtown and 54% at the line with 18 boards, six assists, seven steals and 11 turnovers per night. Individual leaders include Jackson Lanz with 18 points, eight boards and two steals per night. Casey Short and Kolton Hauser each average two assists per night. The Ravens have won 20 of the last 26 in the series including a sweep of both contests last year by 48-44 and 51-43 scores.
