The Winfield-Mount Union School Board met in regular session on Wednesday.
The Certified Annual Report for the 2022 fiscal year was reviewed, before moving on to building and superintendent reports.
A new K-8 math curriculum, i-Ready, was approved, along with a new student information system, Infinite Campus. Both will be implemented during the 2023-24 school year. The board also approved the sharing agreement between WMU and the Columbus Community School District for boys and girls wrestling and soccer.
In the last business item of the evening, an increase in teacher quality pay was approved. Staff members who participate in additional professional-development activities receive compensation for attending the trainings. Superintendent, Jeff Maeder adds, “It has to be approved ahead of time, but that will be increasing from $25 an hour to $30 an hour”.
The WMU Board of Education’s next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 11 at 6 p.m. in the school library.
