The Keota Eagles continued an excellent boys’ basketball season by cruising to a 73-35 win over BGM Monday night in Brooklyn. Keota actually trailed by a point after one quarter, but the Eagles kicked it into second gear from there, turning an eight-point lead at halftime into a 21-point advantage going into the final period.
Juniors Cole Kindred and Sawyer Stout kept up their high-scoring ways, putting up 18 and 15 points, respectively. Sophomore Billie Kindred scored just four points but affected the game in other ways, compiling 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Junior Aiden McGuire netted eight points off the bench, while senior Aidan Anderson and junior Evan Vittetoe had seven each.
The Keota girls also defeated BGM 53-30. After the game was tied at eight through a quarter of play and the Eagles only led by two at the break, Keota would pull away, particularly in the fourth quarter. The Eagle girls improve to 3-7, while the Keota boys are 8-2. Both teams will return to action January 3rd when they visit Montezuma.
