The Highland School Board met in regular session last Monday. The meeting began with the approval of bills and policy, as well as a student services fundraiser.
Janelle Sulhoff, an elementary instructional coach, spoke to the board about the school’s professional development goals and the steps they’ve taken to improve core literacy instruction. As Superintendent Ken Crawford explains, “They call it a Blueprint Literacy Program that they’re doing so that students become more independent while a teacher is doing small groups with other students. That was probably our biggest conversation and it was great to hear.”
In his Superintendent Report to close the meeting, Crawford provided updates on the Wastewater Project currently being worked on at the south end of the secondary building.
The Highland Community Schools Board of Education’s next meeting will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 5 p.m. in the high school board room.
