The quilt gallery at the Kalona Historical Village Welcome Center has some new additions for the holiday season. According to Managing Director, Nancy Roth, “We received about 13 red and green quilts that date about 1840 to 1880, and they are just wonderful”.

The Christmas Quilt Gallery will be up through February, giving guests time to see them before the exhibit is changed. In addition to the quilts, a number of other exhibits are displayed at the Welcome Center, including one on the westward expansion of the railroad, and a Kalona High School Alumni exhibit. Even for those who have been to the center before, Roth encourages everyone to visit. “Come see us! I think that you would be pleasantly surprised as to what all we have here,” she said.

The Kalona Historical Village Welcome Center is open through the winter from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
