A number of the area’s top wrestlers are being recognized for their strong starts to the season. In the latest individual state rankings from Hupke Wrestling Productions, that includes Washington Demons sophomore Aaron Boone, who is undefeated and slots in at number six in the 120-pound weight class in Class 2A.

The Highland Huskies have two state-ranked wrestlers in Class 1A. Senior Carlos Valenzuela is eighth at 132 lbs after winning 21 of his first 22 bouts. Husky junior Luke Guseman is seventh at 120 with a 12-3 record. A trio of wrestlers represent Sigourney-Keota in the 1A rankings. Sophomore Reanah Utterback has gone 13-2 so far this season and thus earns the number-eight spot at 106, while seniors Reid Molyneux and Jack Clarahan are also ranked. Molyneux comes in eighth in 1A at 152 with a 13-2 record as well, while Clarahan has gone 16-1 and is sixth at 170.
