The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team starts the second half of their season tonight at home when they host a River Valley Conference quad against Bellevue, Camanche and Northeast Goose Lake. The Hawks have a 4-6 dual record this season. Their last dual event was December 15th when they split, beating Mount Pleasant and falling to Fort Madison. Mid-Prairie has eight athletes on the roster with winning records, led by 170lber Owen Trimpe at 15-3 on the season. Others with double digit win totals include Terry Bordenave at 220 and Dom Shively at 170 each with 12 wins, Mose Yoder at 120, Mason Howe at 132 and Kaden Meader at 182 with 11 victories, and Quinn Callahan at 285 with 10 wins.
The Northeast Goose Lake Rebels are 1-7 on the dual season, scoring their only victory of the year, last time out, beating West Carroll of Illinois December 13th while also falling to Clinton and West Branch. The Rebels have a pair of wrestlers with winning records, led by 195lber Grant Gray at 12-7 and William Schemers at 220lbs 6-4. The Hawks shut out the Rebels last season in a dominating 78-0 win.
The Camanche Storm is 2-6 on the dual season entering Thursday. They were swept by Fulton and Central DeWitt in a triangular December 13th. The Hawks beat the Storm a season ago 54-24.
The Bellevue Comets are 4-8 on the dual season entering tonight. They dropped their last dual 54-18 to Dubuque Wahlert before Christmas. Mid-Prairie crushed the Comets a season ago 60-18.
