The annual Washington Fire Department Fireman’s Pancake Day is Wednesday at the fire station. Lunch service will begin at 11 AM and go until 1 PM. Dinner service will begin at 5 PM and go until 7 PM. Carry-out will be offered. KCII News spoke with Fire Chief DeLong about the event; he states, “We’re looking forward to having the community come and support us; we’ve done this every year for several years. Come join us and eat eggs, sausage, and pancakes and enjoy the fellowship.” Tickets are available from any fireman, or you can purchase tickets at the door on the day of the event. Prices are ten dollars for adults, eight dollars for kids ages six to ten, and children five and under are free. Pancake Day typically serves around 2,000 people, and proceeds go to support the department’s annual equipment purchases and other expenses.
