The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys wrestling team is on the mat tonight in Troy Mills for a set of duals against Center Point-Urbana, Wilton and the home North Lynn Lynx. The Golden Hawks are 7-6 on the dual season after sweeping a quad with Northeast Goose Lake, Camanche and Belleuve Thursday at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman. Over the weekend they were at the Gary Curtis Invitational at Highland where they placed ninth with 92 points, led by a runner-up finish for Mose Yoder and fifth place each for Tucker Miller, Kaden Meader and Burke Berry. Owen Trimpe leads the Golden Hawks with his 17-4 overall record. Other top Hawks include 14 wins each for Mose Yoder and Kaden Meader, 12 for Terry Bordenave, Dom Shivley, and Mason Howe, and 10 apiece for Landry Gingerich, Burke Berry and Quinn Callahan.

The Wilton Beavers are an undefeated 18-0 on the dual season. They are ranked No. 4 in the latest set of Class 1A dual rankings issued by IAwrestle.com. The Beavers won the Gary Curtis Invitational at Highland over the weekend with 230.5 points with Mason Shirk at 106lbs, Brody Brisker at 126lbs and Kaden Shirk at 182lbs all winning championships. The Beavers lead Class 1A with 11 ranked wrestlers in their lineup including Mason Shirk No. 5 at 106lbs, Austin Etzel No. 4 at 113, Gabe Brisker No. 5 at 120lbs, Brody Brisker No. 4 at 126, Jordan Dusenberry No. 3 at 132, Trae Hagen No. 8 at 138, Garrett Burkle No. 11 at 152, Owen Milder No. 10 at 160, Gaitlin Rogers No. 6 at 170, Kaden Shirk No. 2 at 182 and Alexander Kaufmann No. 7 at 285. Mid-Prairie fell to the Beavers twice last season by 65-18 and 63-24 scores.

Center Point-Urbana is 3-11 on the dual season. Last time out they were shut out by Mount Vernon 77-0. The top wrestlers by record on the Stormin’ Pointer roster all have seven wins including Teegan Fuessley at 126lbs, Will Griswold at 132lbs, Connor Alcorn at 145lbs, and William Gerhold at 170lbs. The Hawks beat the Pointers at this event last year 42-38.

North Lynn comes into their home event with an 8-4 dual record this year. The Lynx won two of three in their most recent quad, taking down Lone Tree and Central City before falling to East Buchanan on Thursday. The Lynx have three wrestlers ranked in Class 1A in their lineup including Cael Bridgewater No. 4 at 138lbs, Jarin Peyton No. 7 at 160lbs, and Landon Helmrich No. 10 at 182lbs. Last season the Hawks hammered the Lynx 72-18. Action starts tonight at 5:30 at North Linn High School.
