After nearly a month off, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk archery teams traveled to Solon Saturday for competition and brought back some individual hardware. The Golden Hawk high school shooters finished fifth of five teams with a 3037 score, Solon won their home tournament with a 3258. Grace Allred had the top girls score for Mid-Prairie, placing 14th of 60 with a 259, including six 10s. Caiden Sellers fired a 270 with ten 10s for the Golden Hawk boys, to place 19th of 99 high school boys.
The middle school Hawks were third of five teams with a 3061. Alburnett won the team title with a 3144. Lael Seale was the individual middle school girls champion with a 282 day that included 16 tens. Fiona McClellen also made the top 10 for the Hawks in eighth individually with a 255. Nickolas Kelley led the Golden Hawk boys, finishing as middle school boys runner-up with a 279 that included 16 tens. Tommy Miller finished fifth overall with a 276.
The elementary Hawks did not post a team score, but swept both of the individual championships. Noah Coblentz won the boys title, shooting a 257 with eight tens. Other Mid-Prairie boys individual top tens included Nolan Mohling third at 240, Easton Gorsch eighth with a 214, Greyson Naraine ninth with a 211 and Sawyer Brenneman 10th at 204. Lara Brenneman won individual gold for the Mid-Prairie elementary girls, shooting a 240 with five tens. Other Golden Hawk girls top tens included Taya Bombei third with a 187 and Mackenzie O’brien fifth with a 142.
The Golden Hawk archery team will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Washington.
