The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls wrestling teams are back on their home mat in Wellman Thursday for Senior Night duals. The Golden Hawk boys have a 9-6 dual record on the season and have won five straight. Tuesday, they topped Center Point-Urbana on criteria and North Linn 42-36 in Troy Mills. Kaden Meader holds the team lead with 19 wins on the year. Other Hawks in double figures include 18 each for Mose Yoder and Owen Trimpe, 15 for Mason Howe, 14 for Burke Berry, 13 each for Tucker Miller, Dom Shively and Quinn Callahan, 12 for Terry Bordenave, 11 for Evan Phillips and 10 each for Dalton Miller, Peyton Fox, Noah Freeman, and Landry Gingerich.

Meeting the Golden Hawk boys tonight in their quad are Anamosa, Cascade and Maquoketa. The Blue Raiders are 12-5 on the year. Their last duals were a week ago when they went 2-1 in a quad with West Branch, Wilton and Regina, beating the Regals and Bears, but falling to the Beavers. They have three ranked wrestlers in their lineup according to the latest Class 2A poll from IAwrestle.com with Hudson Scranton No. 10 at 145lbs, Austin Scranton No. 7 at 160lbs and Cole Sigler No. 8 at 285lbs. Mid-Prairie beat Anamosa last season 54-30.

Cascade is 11-9 on the dual season. The Cougars were last in dual action a week ago when they went 1-2 in a quad against New London, Tipton and Durant, beating the Wildcats but falling to both sets of Tigers. Cascade has one ranked wrestler in their lineup with Brock Morris No. 5 at 113lbs in the latest 1A poll from IAwrestle.com. A year ago, the Hawks topped the Cougars 60-24.

Maquoketa is 4-7 on the dual season. The Cardinals were in a quad Tuesday against Jesup, North Fayette Valley and Bellevue where they beat the Comets but fell to the J and Tigerhawks. The Cardinals do not feature any ranked wrestlers in their lineup but are led by 18 match winner Jackson Van Keuren at 285lbs and 17 match winner Spencer Martin at 170lbs. The Hawks have never met the Cardinals in dual action.

During Senior Night festivities, the Mid-Prairie boys will honor six athletes including Mose Yoder, Evan Phillips, Owen Trimpe, Kaden Meader, Terry Bordenave and Jaxsen Timmerman.

The Mid-Prairie girls are hosting Cedar Rapids Prairie tonight in dual action. The Golden Hawks are 4-1 in duals this year, with their last coming on December 15th when they beat Iowa City Liberty and fell to CR Prairie. The Golden Hawks have one ranked wrestler in their lineup according to the latest poll issued by IAwrestle.com with Gabi Robertson at No. 6 at 100lbs. Robertson, Marissa Cline and Ellie Brenneman are tied for the team lead with 22 wins apiece this year. Others with 15 or more include Ashlee Farrier with 21, Mia Garvey with 18, Kenda Shqair with 16 and Grace Conway and Ellie Callahan each with 15.

Cedar Rapids Prairie is 10-1 in duals this season, notching a win in their last, January 5th, over Cedar Rapids Jefferson 54-16. The Prairie Hawks have a pair of ranked wrestlers in their lineup with Myah Rausch No. 5 at 100lbs and Mackenzie Childers No. 1 at 125lbs. In their earlier meeting this season, the Prairie Hawks beat the Golden Hawks 51-15. As part of Senior Night festivities, the Golden Hawk girls will honor three athletes including Grace Conway, Marissa Cline and Mia Garvey.

All action gets underway tonight at 5:30p.m. at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
