The Mid-Prairie girls wrestling team will be on the mat at home for the final time this year when they host their tournament Saturday. Mid-Prairie closed out the dual season on Thursday with a 5-1 record, beating Cedar Rapids Prairie 57-47 and honoring seniors Mia Garvey, Grace Conway and Marissa Cline. The Golden Hawks have one ranked wrestler in their lineup with Gabi Robertson No. 6 at 100lbs in the latest Iawrestle.com poll. She, Ellie Brenneman and Marissa Cline are tied for the team lead with 22 wins each. Ashlee Farrier has 21 wins for Mid-Prairie.

Area schools joining the Hawks in Wellman today are Washington and WACO. The Demons wrestled last Saturday at Anamosa where they were 13th with 28 points led by an individual title from Tegan Sulentich who went 5-0 on the day. She is the lone ranked Demon, standing No. 2 at 155lbs in the latest poll with a 23-4 record. Jillian Langstraat is .500 this year at 5-5.

The WACO girls competed last Friday at Highland where Bralyyn Wagler won gold in the Girls 49 bracket with Rylee Rice, Destiny Boone and Grace Fort all runners-up. Wagler sets the standard for the Warriors with a 20-1 overall record. She is ranked No. 10 at 235lbs according to Iawrestle.com. Rice and Heaven Steege have each won 18 matches.

Those three teams will be joined by English Valleys, Western Dubuque, Fort Madison, Louisa-Muscatine, Maquoketa, Mount Pleasant, North Scott, Pleasant Valley Iowa City Regina, West Liberty and Wilton. Action starts at 10a.m. And continues all day at Mid-Prairie High School.
