The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team competes Saturday at Cornell College in the River Valley Conference Shoot Out. The Hawks are 9-5 overall this year and 4-2 in the RVC after a 50-48 win at state ranked West Liberty Friday where Nora Pennington led Mid-Prairie with 11 points. This year, Mid-Prairie averages 53 points per game and gives up 43, shooting 37% from the floor, 27% from three and 59% at the line with 37 rebounds, 12 assists, 13 steals and 16 turnovers. Individual leaders include Amara Jones at 11 points, five assists and five steals per game with Landry Pacha at seven boards per night.
This year Bellevue is 9-5 overall and 6-3 in the River Valley, following a 48-28 win over Camanche Friday. This year the Comets score 46 points per game and give up 40, shooting 35% from the floor, 25% from long range and 61% at the line with 23 boards, eight assists, 12 steals and 16 turnovers per game. Ka’Lynn DeShaw leads the Comets across the board with 16 points, 11 rebounds, four steals and three assists per night.
