It’s the final regular season tournament for three KCII area girls wrestling teams today at Colfax-Mingo. The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks are fresh off of a dual win over Cedar Rapids Prairie to finish the year with a 7-1 record and home tournament championship last weekend in Wellman where they also crowned two individual champs in Gabi Robertson at 100lbs and Ellie Brenneman at 135lbs. Robertson remains ranked in the latest girls poll issued by IAwrestle.com, checking in at No. 7. Brenneman has the team lead with 29 wins this season, Robertson has 28, Ashlee Farrier and Marissa Cline 26 each, Mia Garvey 23, and Grace Conway 20.

Highland was on the mat Thursday against WACO and Pekin. The Huskies won all five contested matches on the night with Lilly Barre recording two falls, Angelina Roling a fall and 7-2 decision and Abbie Grout a fall. This season Barre has a team best 22 wins, followed by 19 from Roling, 17 for Grout and 16 for Mackenzie McFarland.

Against the Huskies and Panthers Thursday, the Warriors saw Rylee Rice record a tech fall win and Heaven Steege a pin. The Warriors have one ranked wrestler in their lineup with Bralyyn Wagler No. 9 at 235lbs. She has the team lead with 20 wins. Rice and Steege have each won 18 times and Grace Fort has had her hand raised 15 times.

Joining these three area teams are Ames, Ankeny, Ballard, BGM, Boone, Chariton, Iowa Valley, Nevada, Newton, Norwalk, Osage, Pella, Saydel, South Tama, Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas, West Des Moines Valley, Wapello, West Fork and the home Tigerhawks. Action continues all day Saturday at Colfax-Mingo High School.
