The trial for 17-year-old Willard Noble Chaiden Miller, one of two Fairfield teens accused of murdering their Spanish teacher in November of 2021, was originally scheduled for March 20 of this year. On January 16, Miller’s attorney, Christine Branstad, filed a motion for continuance.

Miller’s defense team is requesting the delay in his trial to ensure that all transcripts, discovery review, and other court documents can be sufficiently reviewed beforehand. A busy schedule leading up to March 20 has Branstad arguing that more time is needed.

Miller, along with his classmate, 17-year-old Jeremy Goodale, is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of 66-year-old Nohema Graber on November 2, 2021. In November of 2022, Goodale’s trial was delayed until May 15 of this year.

A hearing on the motion to continue the trial is scheduled for Friday, January 27.
