The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk basketball teams entertain the Durant Wildcats Tuesday in Wellman for a River Valley Conference doubleheader. The Golden Hawk girls are 11-5 overall this year, 6-2 in the RVC, winners of six straight after a 61-51 victory Monday over Mt. Pleasant where Landry Pacha and Amara Jones each had 15 points. On the season, the Hawks are scoring 52 points per game and giving up 43, shooting 37% from the floor, 27% from three and 60% at the line with 37 rebounds, 12 assists, 13 steals and 17 turnovers per game. Individually, Pacha leads Mid-Prairie at 10 points and eight boards per game. Jones has a team best five assists and five steals per night.

Durant is 4-10 overall, 1-7 in the River Valley after a 53-32 win over Camanche Saturday at Cornell in the RVC Shoot Out. The Wildcats score 43 points per game and give up 54, shooting 29% from the floor and from three and 58% at the line with 31 rebounds, seven assists, eight steals and 17 turnovers per night. Isabelle DeLong has a team best 16 points and eight boards per night. Avery Paper averages two assists and two steals per game. Mid-Prairie beat the Wildcats on the road in December 66-22 and has won six straight in the series.

The Mid-Prairie boys are 9-6 after a 66-59 setback against No. 14 in Class 3A Mount Pleasant in Wellman Monday where Alex Bean had a team high 18 points. On the year, the Hawks average 61 points per game and give up 56, shooting 37% from the floor, 29% from three and 72% at the line with 33 rebounds, 12 assists, nine steals and 12 turnovers per game. Individually, Camron Pickard leads the way at 15 points and four assists per night with Bean averaging a team best five boards and two steals per game.

Durant is 5-10 this year, 2-6 in the River Valley after a 65-53 win over Regina Friday where Nolan DeLong and Garrett Hollenback each had 20 points. This season, Durant averages 53 points per game and gives up 57, shooting 42% from the floor, 28% from three and 58% at the line with 33 boards, 11 assists, seven steals and 17 turnovers per night. DeLong is the team leader with 19 points, eight boards and two steals per night. Hollenback has a team best four assists per game. The Hawks were winners at Durant in December 67-50 and have beaten the Wildcats six times in a row.
