On Sunday, at approximately 11:42 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a single-vehicle rollover with unknown injuries and entrapment of the operator around the 1900 block of Dogwood Ave. in rural Keota. Upon investigation, it was determined that a silver 2004 Mazda MZ6 passenger car was northbound on Dogwood Ave., lost control, left the roadway to the west, entered the ditch, rolled an unknown amount of times, and came to rest on its top. The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Jason Milam, who was extricated by mechanical means from the vehicle and transported to the University of Iowa via the University of Iowa AirCare. Based upon the totality of the circumstances, a search warrant was executed at the University of Iowa. There are multiple charges pending against Milam. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Washington County Ambulance Service, Washington County Rescue, University of Iowa AirCare, Keota QRS, Keota Fire Department, and Moore’s Towing Service. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
