The Washington County Board of Supervisors will have a work session Friday to interview candidates for Washington County Attorney. There are three interviews scheduled. Supervisor Jack Seward talked about the interviews at the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, “On Friday, we’ll have interviews of the applicants for the County Attorney spot.” This comes after the previous County Attorney; John Gish resigned his position in January to join Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird’s staff in Des Moines as the Assistant Attorney General for Victim Services. The board decided to appoint an attorney rather than go through a special election at the direction of Gish.
