Friday before 7:30a.m., a fire was reported at 217 W. Main Street, just off the square in downtown Washington. On the scene, smoke could be seen rising from the third story of the building. This is an ongoing situation and Washington County Dispatch is asking the public to avoid the area.

Responding to the scene were Washington Fire and Rescue, Washington County Ambulance, Washington Police, City of Washington crews and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. KCII will have more information as it becomes official.
