Jefferson County Conservation is partnering with multiple organizations to hold a zoom seminar for anyone interested in working to solve the biodiversity crisis. A free Zoom seminar will be held at the Fairfield Public Library today, February 18 at 1:30 p.m.

Professor at the University of Delaware, Doug Tallamy, will lead discussions centered around the ineffectiveness of current conservation efforts for plants and wildlife. Tallamy, who specializes in entomology and wildlife ecology, will also provide solutions for enhancing local ecosystems, rather than degrade them. Participants are welcome to attend the seminar at the Library, or join through the Zoom link.

Along with Jefferson County Conservation, the event has been coordinated by the Southeast Iowa Sierra Club, Nady Conservation Committee, Iowa Prairie Network, Sustainable Living Coalition, and Leopold Landscape Alliance.
