Gladbrook-Reinbeck is 21-2 this season. They enter tonight’s contest ranked No. 3 in Class 1A in the final poll of the season issued by the Iowa High School Athletic Association. They have been dominant through the first two rounds of the tournament with an 85-31 win over BGM to open things and an 88-26 dismantling of HLV in the second round. Against the Warriors, William Kiburis had 26 points, Caleb Egesdal 24 and Luke Riffey 11. This season, the Rebels score 77 per game and give up 45, shooting 53% from the floor, 37% from three and 68% from the line with 33 rebounds, 21 assists, 10 steals and nine turnovers per game. Individually, Kiburis puts up a team best 26 points, eight assists and three steals per game. This week, Eagle head coach Dan Stout joined the KCII Radio Coaches Corner to break down the contest. “They’ve got one heck of a program up there. The Kiburis kid is a tremendous scorer, but he’s not the only player they have. They have a good lineup of guys that can score the basketball. We’re really going to have to be able to defend, rebound and take care of the basketball. Those are the three things that we’ve really focused on. We’re pretty seasoned veterans now. That’s why we play these games. It’s a lot of fun. It’s going to be exciting!”

The winner of tonight’s game gets the District 11 title and moves on to substate Saturday to play for a bid to the state tournament against the winner of Lynnville-Sully and North Mahaska. Action gets underway at 7p.m. tonight at Grinnel High School.
