The Keota Eagles had a top-tier boys’ basketball season, and that was reflected in both their number of wins and their postseason honors. Keota had four players receive all-conference honors in the South Iowa Cedar League after the Eagles went 21-4, won their division of the conference and played in a district championship game.

Junior Sawyer Stout was the lone first-team selection. The Keota junior led the team in scoring by averaging 18 points per game and hitting 41 percent of his shot attempts. Not only did Stout score in double figures in every game this season, he also put up at least 20 points in seven games and scored at least 30 twice, including his season high of 34 against HLV.

Junior point guard Cole Kindred was an all-around force and represents the Eagles on the second team after putting up almost 12 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals per contest.

Honorable mentions went to the Keota frontcourt duo of junior Evan Vittetoe and sophomore Billie Kindred. Vittetoe made his hay in the post and posted nearly 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots a game. Kindred affected every aspect of the game, averaging nearly seven points, eight boards and three assists.
