Beginning tonight at 7 p.m., students at Mid-Prairie are holding their annual Madrigal Dinner. The medieval-themed event continues through the weekend, with additional performances on Saturday, February 25 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, February 26 at 5 p.m.
Directed by Collette McClellen, the event is held in the High School Cafetorium. Each night, which anticipates over 100 guests, features a five-course meal and musical entertainment through song and dance. Nearly 70 students have spent the last month preparing for the event, which benefits the Mid-Prairie music department.
Queen, Mia Garvey explains, “It helps support the things that we do in choir. It helps pay for all of our stuff. That is just a fun place to be and not many people get to do something like this.” Fellow Queens on this year’s Royal Court include Grace Conway and Kenadi Fay. This is the 29th year that Mid-Prairie has hosted the Madrigal Dinner.
