Washington County officials held interviews for the open County Attorney position on Friday. There are three candidates applying for the position, all with varying experience levels. The candidates are Nathan Repp, currently an Assistant Attorney for Scott County. Zachary Miller, who works criminal appeals cases for the Iowa Attorney General’s Office. The final candidate is Shane McChurch, a current Washington County Assistant Attorney. These interviews are due to the previous County Attorney; John Gish, resigning his position in January to join Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird’s staff in Des Moines as the Assistant Attorney General for Victim Services.
