The regular season is drawing to a close for area archery teams, who have the Washington High School gym in their sights for the final tournament of the year today.

The Demons were most recently in action at the Mike Davis Memorial 3D and Bullseye Tournaments in Eldon a week ago. They won the high school bull team title, led by individual boys runner-up Jonathan Moore and Madison Conway fourth place for the girls. They were team runners-up in 3D with Cash Pepper claiming the boys title and Avery Marner 20th for the girls. The Washington Middle School teams swept all of the gold. They were team bullseye and 3D champions with Ethan Hotchkiss and Emma Helfrich winning the boys and girls individual bullseye titles and Teage Pepper and Gabrielle Andrew the individual boys and girls 3D championships. The Lincoln Demons won the bullseye and 3D team championships with Jordan Thorius and Kirya Coates winning the individual boys and girls bullseye titles with Thorius completing his own sweep winning boys 3D and Aryana Jones third for the girls.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will also be at Washington today and were at South Tama last week. The high school Hawks were runners-up in bullseye and 3D. In bullseye they were led by Kyla Karnes fifth for the girls and Payton Peck ninth for the boys. In 3D, Elijah Statler was third for the boys and Josee Mueller seventh for the girls. For the middle schoolers, the Hawks were fourth in bullseye and third in 3D. Top bullseye shooters were runner-up Preston Ford for the boys and Ava Miller ninth for the girls. In 3D, Nickolas Kelley was boys runner-up and Ava Miller fifth for the girls. For the elementary Hawks Lara Brenneman won the girls bullseye championship and Beckett Miller was 16th for the boys. Brenneman was runner-up in girls 3D and Miller was sixth for the boys.

Joining the Demons and Golden Hawks today in Washington are Cardinal, Central Springs, Denver, Ottumwa, Solon and Van Buren. Action continues all day Saturday at the Demon Den.
