Last month, Highland High School launched their first ever Future Business Leaders of America Chapter at the school. The formation was led by counselor, Peggy Schwab, and business education teacher Clint Jones.
The inaugural FBLA at Highland consists of sixteen members, all in the junior class. Officers include President Halle Hazelet, Vice-President Sarah Burton, Treasurers Marianna Pulido and Kerra Longbine, Secretary Gwen Piette, Historians Shauna Sublette, Allyana Pokorny, and Stella Slaymaker, and Parliamentarians Kelsi Cerny and Courtney Chalupa.
FBLA is the largest business career and technical student organization in the world. With many objectives, key goals of the organization are to develop competent and aggressive business leadership, strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work, encourage the development of individual projects to improve home, business, and community, and facilitate the transition from school to work.
Highland members join the over 230,000 students who participate in FBLA every year.
