The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk archery teams traveled to the South Tama bullseye and 3D tournaments this month and came away with some of their best marks of the year. The high school Hawks were bullseye runners-up with a score of 3232, behind Cedar Rapids Prairie’s 3385. Kyla Karnes was the top girls shooter placing fifth with a 282 and 15 tens. Paityn Jennings also made the top 10 in eighth. For the boys Payton Peck was ninth with a 277 and 13 tens. In 3D, Mid-Prairie was also runner-up at 1606, behind Prairie’s 1655. Elijah Statler led the boys placing third with a 277 and 11 tens. Other top tens included Koby Karnes fourth and Caiden Sellers sixth. For the girls, Josee Mueller was the leader in seventh with a 266 and 12 tens. Kyla Karnes finished 10th.

The Middle School team finished fourth of four in bullseye with a 3088. Cedar Rapids Prairie was the winner at 3174. Preston Ford had the top day for the boys with a 277 and 14 tens to finish runner-up. Tommy Miller was third and Nickolas Kelley fifth. Ava Miller had the top girls performance at ninth with a 264 and seven tens. In 3D, the Hawks were third with 1554 behind Prairie’s 1614. Nickolas Kelley was runner-up for the top boys individual, finishing with a 267 and 10 tens. Tommy Miller was fourth and Joel Sellers 10th. For the girls, Miller was fifth at 263 with 14 tens. Isabelle Frederick finished 10th.

Lara Brenneman dominated the girls elementary bullseye contest, winning the title with a 264 and seven tens. Taya Bombei was eighth. Beckett Miller was the top elementary boy with a 203 and four tens for 16th. In 3D, Brenneman was runner-up at 183 with one ten. Miller was best for the boys in sixth with a 229 and one ten.
