A new season of track & field at Keota High School is right around the corner, and the Eagles are primed to make some noise this spring. Leading the way will be sophomore Izzi Chaulpa, who finished up a fantastic debut season in 2022 by making it to the Class 1A state championships in the long jump, Keota’s lone state qualifier. The Eagle girls took second at three meets last season and finished fourth at the South Iowa Cedar League Championships. Plenty of other youngsters like junior Ashton Thomas for the boys and sophomores Kimberly Clarahan and Grace Conger for the girls will look to take Keota to new heights, starting with their first meet of the 2023 season, the annual A.D. Dickinson Relays at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls on Monday.
