The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. On the agenda was an approval request from County Engineer Jacob Thorbius, for Traffic Safety Improvement Project Funding assistance for county road G36. Thorbius explains the agreement, “So this is a standard agreement from the DOT for some safety funds that we were awarded late last fall, December. Five hundred thousand dollars in traffic safety improvement funds to help pave a portion of the shoulders on G36. It will be from Redwood Ave east to highway 218; it’s a little over three miles worth of work there.” Thorbius believes that at least half of the cost of the project will be covered by the funds from the DOT. The Board voted unanimously to approve the funding assistance.
