The big weekend is here for Washington and Mid-Prairie as more than 1,000 archers descend on the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines to vie for state titles and bids to the National Archery in the Schools Program National Tournament.
Washington is sending a total of 64 Demons to Des Moines. High school competitors who will shoot bullseye and 3D include Tyler Alderton, Josh Anderson, Levi Applegate, Lily Brown, Madison Conway, Brian Fritz, Chance Haskins, Hayden Janecek, Riley Kasper, Avery Marner, Ethen Mesch, Landon Messer, Kyann Miller, Jonathan Moore, Levy Palacios, Cash Pepper, Allison Rees, Jace Sanders, Duston Sorrells, and Curtis Stender. 3D only shooters for the high school Hawks include Milo Sieren and Elijah Statler.
At the middle school level shooting bullseye and 3D, Washington has, Gabrielle Andrew, Hunter Barnes, Mark Chenoweth, Braydon Clough, Isaiah Halvorson, Johannah Halvorson, Emma Helfrich, Corbin Hodson, Ethan Hotchkiss, Zach Hotchkiss, Hannah Lipski, Cecelia Mitchell, Teage Pepper, Mason Pierce, Charlee Read, and Nora Stoutner. Shooting bullseye only are Emma Alderton, Itzell Calixto, Caden Higdon, Maddyx Peek, Tate Sheetz, Jaxon Tinnes, Eva Torres and Sophie Wittmayer. Shooting only 3D are Destiny Moyer and Nathan Schrock.
For the Lincoln Demons, shooting bullseye and 3D are Maison Crawford, Tristen Heisdorffer, Jace Helfrich, Liliana Hernandez, Aryana Jones, Eli Miller, Addyson Neer, Miriam Pierce, Braxton Rich, Madalyn Roundy, Mason Schneider and Jordan Thorius. Shooting block only are Austin Boone, Jack Charlier, Kirya Coates, Parker Conway and Carter Higdon.
There will be plenty of Mid-Prairie black and gold at the Iowa State Fairgrounds with 45 Golden Hawks attending.
Shooting for the high school Hawks in both the bullseye and 3D tournaments include Grace Allred, Koby Karnes, Kyla Karnes, Josee Mueller, Payton Peck, Caiden Sellers, and Allie Whetstine. Those shooting bullseye only include Tate Bombei, Rylee Cady, Petyon Freeman, Paityn Jennings, Landon Kuenster, Morgyn Nafziger, Blake Peck, Madelyn Sieren, Paytin Swartzentruber, Madison Witthoft and Caitlyn Yoder. 3D only shooters for the high school Hawks include Milo Sieren and Elijah Statler.
Shooting both bullseye and 3D for the middle school are Lara Brenneman, Noah Coblentz, Preston Ford, Averi Janecek, Nickolas Kelley, Ava Miller, Tommy Miller, Morgan Northup, Sophia Puttman, Lael Seale, Joel Sellers, and Jack Sorrell.
Those shooting bullseye only include Eli Conrad, Kean Curtis, Jacob Debler, Ty Gearhart, Jaiden Lara, Gavin Luers, Levi Luers, Fiona McClellen, Nolan Mohling, Nickolas Peck, and Harlee West. Those shooting 3D only are Kyla Kiefer and Johnathon Pickard.
The 2023 State Archery tournaments take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday inside the Jacobsen Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
