The Sigourney Speech Team took to the stage on Saturday, February 25 to compete in the District Individual Events Contest at Xavier High School. Three students and four events for the Savages received a Division 1 rating, punching their ticket to state.

Competing in two events at state is Reagan Clarahan. Clarahan received her Division 1 ratings in Acting and After Dinner Speaking. Ava Fineran earned a trip to state in Poetry, while Joey Glandon competed in Improv, and received a Division 1 rating as well.

Clarahan, Fineran, and Glandon will now perform at the Iowa High School Speech Association’s Individual Events State Speech Contest. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 11 at North Scott High School in Eldridge.
