The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk archery teams joined thousands of archers at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines over the weekend for the Iowa bullseye and 3D state tournaments. The high school Hawks finished 30th of 32 schools in bullseye with a 3177. Cedar Rapids Prairie won the state title with a 3393. Elijah Statler led the boys with a 278 and 12 tens to finish 75th of 371. Allie Whetstine was the top girls shooter, placing 110th of 370 with a 271 and 11 tens. In 3D, the Golden Hawks were 19th of 22 teams with a 1597. Spencer won the state title with a 1687. Statler was best for the boys with a 275 and 12 tens to finish 41st of 183. Caiden Sellers was 70th and Koby Karnes 92nd. Whetstine was best on the girls side with a 269 and nine tens to place 63rd of 162. Josee Mueller was 79th.
The middle school Hawks were 28th of 30 schools in bullseye with a 3075. West Fork won the title with a 3314. Lael Seale led the Golden Hawk girls in 26th of 293 with a 276 and 13 tens. For the boys, Tommy Miller was 76th of 455 with a 272 and 11 tens. For 3D, Mid-Prairie was 10th of 21 schools with a 1564. West Fork made it two titles with their 1676. Miller again led the Mid-Prairie boys with his 270 and 11 tens for 37th of 217. Jack Sorrell was 68th, Preston Ford 78th, Morgan Northup 79th and Johnathon Pickard 96th. Seale was 54th of 125 to lead the girls with her 260 and six tens. Sophia Puttmann was 75th and Ava Miller 87th.
For the elementary Hawks, Lara Brenneman was best in bullseye, placing 36th of 105 in the girls contest with a 244 and six tens. Nolan Mohling had the top boys performance with a 241 and five tens for 59th of 185. In elementary 3D, Brenneman was 15th of 33 for the girls with a 235 and six tens.
