The Iowa High School Bowling Coaches Association named their All-District teams for 2023 this week and one area athlete was honored. Sigourney-Keota’s Brock Alderson was a first team central district selection on the lanes.
The SK junior led his team with 4565 total pins this year, placing 16th in Class 1A. His high game of 279 was second in the state. He averaged 198 per game and 415 per series, both top 30 numbers in 1A. Alderson qualified for the state meet a season ago as a sophomore, winning the Muscatine qualifier, becoming the first SK bowler to make it to Waterloo, finishing as state runner-up. This season, Alderson fell just short of a return trip to state, placing fifth at the 1A qualifier in Pella with his 616 series that included a high game of 236.
He was one of five first team selections.
