The Washington City Council met Tuesday, ; on the agenda was the discussion and consideration of E. Washington/Hwy 92 and South 12th St. traffic signal improvements. The intersection was evaluated by Veenstra and Kim engineering firm, and two options were proposed by the engineer. City Administrator Deanna McCusker talks about the options, “One of just adding traffic signals and one with widening the corners a little bit.” The City Council voted to go with the second option of adding the traffic signals and also widening both corners to improve turning trucks off the road. The total estimated cost of this project is $316,800.
