Governor Reynolds announced March 9th the final investments in Destination Iowa projects, with $15M in those funds being allocated to rural communities. The YMCA of Washington County’s Indoor Aquatic Center was among those projects, receiving $750,000 in funds. In order to qualify, projects needed to invest in the quality of life and tourism of the community and be located in communities with less than 30,000 residents. The YMCA of Washington County has stood as a community partner serving the needs of Washington residents since 1924, and its pool is the only indoor aquatic center within a 25-mile radius.
