The Washington Public Library is hosting a Beginning Genealogy program this Saturday. Genealogy traces the descendants of one person’s family. The program is presented by Linda McCann. McCann began doing her family genealogy about 40 years ago. She was part of a group that started a historical society and began to put some of her research into book form and the society self-printed it. A publisher contacted her and she has had fourteen books on Iowa history published. McCann has done six biographies for other people who wanted to preserve their family history. She continues to do genealogy. She will have several handouts to help people get started with their own Genealogy. The program begins at 10 am.
