Wellman Ambulance is extending its life-saving knowledge to the community through first aid and CPR classes on Saturday, April 1. Sign-up is now available for anyone interested in becoming certified.
The Heartsaver CPR class will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. In this advanced class, attendees will learn how to provide chest compressions to adults, children, and infants. The use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) will be taught, along with measures to perform on an individual who is choking.
The Heartsaver First Aid class follows from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., during which participants will learn how to manage bleeding, shock, injuries, chest pain, stroke, and other medical or environmental issues. Individuals who are non-healthcare providers are invited to attend one or both classes.
Each class costs $28, however, anyone taking both classes will only need to pay for one. Registration is required as class sizes are limited. With questions, email wellmanambulance@gmail.com. To register, click here.
