The Mid-Prairie Speech Team competed at the Individual Events State Speech Contest last weekend. Of their 16 events, 14 received a Division 1 rating. To add to their success, four Golden Hawks received nominations to perform at the All-State Festival.

Hayden Bailey will be performing at the All-State Festival in Acting and Solo Musical Theatre. Jack Greiner received his nominations for Solo Improvisation and Solo Musical Theatre. Bailey and Greiner are two of only 16 students in Iowa who are participating in the festival in multiple events. Additional All-State nods went to Harlie Gehling for Poetry and Isadora Goode for Original Oratory.

To perform at the All-State Festival, students must receive a Division 1 rating for their respective event as well as a nomination from at least two of three judges. Only about 5% of competitors across the state achieve this honor.

Bailey, Greiner, Gehling, and Goode are scheduled to perform at this year’s Individual Events All-State Festival on Monday, March 27 at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. For a complete list of nominations or a schedule of the festival, click here.
