In a deep conference for girls’ basketball, Sigourney Savages junior Carly Goodwin still managed to be a shining star. Another example of that is Goodwin earning an All-Southeast District selection in Class 1A from the Iowa Girls Coaches Association this season.
Goodwin finished fifth in the South Iowa Cedar League in scoring, averaging almost 12 points and four rebounds per game. Goodwin also put up almost three-and-a-half steals per contest, making her second in the conference, as she led Sigourney on a late-season, eight-game winning streak after the Savages started the campaign with an 8-7 record.
