At their meeting on Thursday, March 9, the Keota School Board approved two resolutions to apply for Washington County Riverboat Foundation Spring Grants.
The first grant would be used to purchase Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Funds would also go towards education updates for emergency response. This aligns with Keota’s mission to make its schools Heart-Safe, an initiative through Project Adam that ensures schools and communities have a practiced plan to respond to a sudden cardiac arrest. The second grant would use funds to make improvements to the playground at Keota Elementary.
The Washington County Riverboat Foundation has grant funds available that target community development and beautification, economic development, arts and education, and human and social needs. Their 2023 Spring Grant Awards will be announced on May 17.
