Mid-Prairie standout Clarke Latcham has found his niche competing at the Division III Collegiate level for Simpson College in Indianola. To be more accurate, he has found seven niche events, in the collegiate heptathlon. Latcham, a sophomore for the Storm, finished third this season at the NCAA Division III American River Conference Indoor Championships in Storm Lake. He finished with a total of 4667 points. Latcham’s best event was the high jump where he won the individual title.

The collegiate heptahlon consists of the 60m dash, 1000m run, 60m hurdles, high jump, pole vault, long jump and shot put.
